Our DNA

Maison hideout celebrates the harmony between Parisian elegance and Caribbean soul; a dialogue between refined French craftsmanship and the raw authenticity of multicultural heritage in the modern world. The name itself embodies this duality: Maison for the architectural precision, creativity, and timeless style of Paris; hideout for the English-speaking Caribbean spirit that shapes our rhythm, resilience, and imagination. In today’s fashion landscape, we represent a Paris that is modern, diverse, and alive - merging global influences, noble fabrics, and meticulous detailing with humility and a commitment to conscious, responsible creation.

We stand for love, positivity, community, self-awareness, and environmental responsibility. Our pursuit of excellence is rooted in intention. We travel the world to source materials, prioritizing recycled and organic fabrics whenever possible, and infusing every piece with thoughtful, premium craftsmanship. Maison hideout is for those who stand out yet effortlessly belong - for individuals shaped by multiple cultures, new voices, and evolving identities. We honor authenticity in all its forms, celebrating the unfiltered, multifaceted self while embracing the shared threads that connect us. Maison hideout is a home for anyone redefining elegance, by honoring where they come from and boldly shaping where they are going.

Our story

Our journey has unfolded through bold steps, unexpected milestones, and deeply personal moments. Each moment has shaped who we are today - refining our craft, expanding our horizons, and strengthening the soul behind the hideout. Here is how our story was built, one defining chapter at a time.

2012

Founding in Trinidad & Tobago

The Hideout Clothing was born in 2012, when two childhood best friends Sébastien ‘Bas’ and Rashad opened their first stores in Trinidad & Tobago with a bold mission: to bring exclusive, hard-to-find brands to the twin-island and carve out a legitimate path to their dreams. Trinidad & Tobago - vibrant, multicultural, and full of creative energy - became the birthplace of a vision that would eventually grow into Maison hideout.

Bas was born in France and raised in Trinidad; Rashad was born in Canada and also grew up on the island. Their intertwined, multicultural paths formed the foundation of the duality and global belonging that shapes Maison hideout today.

2018

First Cut-and-Sew Collection

In 2018, printed tees evolved into our first full cut-and-sew collection. With no traditional fashion background, Bas and Rashad immersed themselves in factory life, living among workers, eating with them, learning every detail of garment production. This was the birth of our craftsmanship - built from proximity, passion, and humility.

2019

The U.S. Road Trip

In a fearless leap of faith, Bas and Rashad traveled to Miami, rented a caravan, and drove across the United States to introduce their collection to boutiques. They slept in the car, showered at gyms, and visited more than 500 stores across the East Coast, South, Midwest, and West Coast. These relationships, built from grit rather than clout, led to the brand’s first wave of success, establishing them in over 50 stores.

2020

Trinibad Dancehall Movement

In 2020, the brand became deeply rooted in Trinibad, the raw and energetic dancehall movement that emerged from Trinidad & Tobago’s streets. We worked closely with local artists, supported young talent, and embraced the cultural wave that gave voice to a new generation. This era strengthened our bond with the island and embedded authenticity, rhythm, and community deeper into our DNA.

2022

The Tragic Passing of Rashad

In December 2022, the world lost Rashad - co-founder, brother, and lifelong friend. His passing the day after his birthday left a void, but his spirit continues to shape the journey of hideout. His ambition, humour, and loyalty lives through every decision we make. We love you and miss you every day, Rashad.

2023

Expansion Into the Italian Market

From Milan to Naples to Rome, Italy embraced our storytelling and bold aesthetic. Concept stores and fashion insiders connected with our multicultural identity and design language, making Italy one of our most passionate international communities. This chapter expanded our presence in Europe and further anchored our vision in a country that values craftsmanship.

2024

Alej Joins as Artistic Director

In 2024, Alej, born in Paris to Portuguese parents, joined the team as Artistic Director. Bringing Parisian sensibility, European precision, and a new creative perspective, he helped refine the brand’s aesthetic and guide its evolution. His influence became integral to the visual identity, bridging our Caribbean heritage with Paris’s contemporary design language.

2024

Opening of the Paris Flagship Store

In January 2024, after relocating to Paris, hideout opened its flagship at 67 Rue du Temple, in Le Marais - one of the world’s most influential fashion districts. Among the largest storefronts on the block, the space quickly became a creative Maison: a cultural hub where Caribbean soul met Parisian refinement. This flagship solidified our presence in the fashion capital and introduced our universe to a global audience.

2025

Our First Runway Show During PFW

January 2025 marked a defining moment: our first official défilé during Paris Fashion Week Homme, in the heart of Paris. It was a celebration of everything hideout stands for: culture, community, and fearless creativity.

2025

Pop-Up at Le BHV Marais

In late 2025, hideout was invited to host a holiday-season pop-up inside Le BHV Marais, one of Paris’s most iconic department stores. A landmark of the capital since 1856, BHV represents the beating heart of Le Marais district - where culture, creativity, and commerce intersect. Being featured in this prestigious space placed our Caribbean-meets-Parisian identity on one of the most respected stages in French retail, celebrating our rise within the Parisian fashion landscape.

2026

Birth of Maison hideout

As our creative identity evolved, a new chapter emerged naturally. With a renewed vision and a deeper commitment to craftsmanship, we’ve transitioned into Maison hideout, starting with the Spring/Summer 2026 collection. This evolution has seen us enter stores around the globe; including Japan, South Africa, Mexico & India and reflects our dedication to premium materials, responsible sourcing, recycled and organic fabrics, and some thoughtful European manufacturing - as we redefine our future with intention.
